GURUVANDANA TO POOJYA SRI VIGNANANIDHI THEERTHA
SWAMIJEE OF MULBAGAL MUTT.
On the occassion of 25th Chaturmasya Valedictory and 92nd year of Poojya Sri Vignananidhi theertha Swamiji of Sripadaraja mutt, a four day National level celebration was organized on 24th & 25th at Sripadaraja mutt Chamarajpet, Bangalore and on 26th & 27th, at Gayana Samaja, Bangalore by the celebration committee in association with Thirumala Thirupathi Devasthanams Dasa Sahitya project & Prasanna Venkata Cultural & Charitable Trust Bangalore .

Dr. Aralumallige Parthasarathy presided over the seminar.
Dr.Malagi Anandatheerthacharya, Madhva Shastra Sampanna Pandit Kallapur Pavamanacharya and Vidwan Pushkaracharya rendered knowledgeful & useful appraisal on contribution to Kannada Dasa Sahitya by Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasaru in general & about his unique Kannada Kruti Prasanna Venkatadasara Bhagavatha in particular.
Dr.Malagi Anandatheerthacharya elaborating first part of Prasanna Venkatadasara Bhagavatha ,
apprised how Shreeman Madhva Siddhanta has been well explained in his works. Shree Pavamanachar Kallapur continuing the thread elaborated how the contents of Bhagavata Dashama Skanda have been aptly embodied without any deviation from Original Bhagavat. It was heartening to listen Gopi Geeta & Venu Geeta in the same original Sanskrit tunes recited by Shree Pavamanachar Kallapur. It was interesting to note the difference that many of Karnataka Haridasaru had a solid Panditya in Sanskrit Vyasa Sahitya while contributing to the Kannada Dasa Sahitya, whereas in poorvashrama Venkanna was basically an illiterate Cowherd Boy and became a Great Prasanna Venkatadasaru by the Anugraha of Lord Venkateshvar.
Vidwan Pushkaracharya gave a comprehensive details of Dasa Sahitya and a comparative out look on contribution of Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasaru with rest of the Karnataka Haridasaru and stressed on further comprehensive study on the works of Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasaru
In his conclusive speech Vidya Vachaspati Dr. Aralu Mallige Parthasarathi appreciated the views of learned Pandits & explained the sequences how the contributions of Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasaru were brought out by Karnataka Kula Purohita late Shree Alur Venkatarao, Late Shree Betageri Krishna Sharma,Late Shree Koujalagi Banderayaru.
The daily recitation of Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasara keertnegalu by late Shree Mudaveedu Krishna Rayaru of Dharwad gave inspiration for further studies about him & his works. Deep interest of Vidvan Late Shree R.S. Panchamukhi about Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasaru , prompted him to inspire Dr A.T.Patil to do doctoral research on sri Prasanna Venkatdasaru and A.T.patil submited his Phd thesis entitled “Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasaru Mattu Krutigalu”.to the Bombay university in the year 1951.
Perhaps most of us, either do not know or we have forgotten another Great Madhva Pandit from Bagalkot, Shree Burli Bindumadhavacharya (Popularly known as “Minchina Balli Bindachar) who opened the innings of Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasa Sahitya by publishing Dr A.T.Patil’s thesis “Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasaru Mattu Krutigalu” in the year 1956 from MINCHINA BALLI KARYALAYA run by him. Thus he reintroduced forgotten personality & Aparoksha Jnani
Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasaru to the people of Karnataka in general and Madhvas in particular.
Vidya Vachaspati Dr. Aralu Mallige Parthasarathi expressed his regrets for having lost most of the krutis of Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasaru. How ever he expressed the possible availability of more krutis with the people of North Karnataka particularly in Bagalkot & Bijapur Districts as he had seen some references in documents in Kakhandaki family Property partition papers briefing the distribution of entire Bhagavata with all the twelve skandas & other works of Dasaru among family members. Apart from this it is also said that the krutis of Shree Prasanna Venkata Dasaru were manually got written & were offered as Dana to learned scholars of Bagalkot & Bijapur Districts. In his Presidential address, He called upon the people of Karnataka in general & Madhva Community and all Haridasara Dasaru in particular to urge the Government of Karnataka to erect a full Length statue of Shree Parasanna Venkata Dasaru one in Bangalore & another in New Bagalkot Township Nava Nagar.
The seminar was followed by A Mahila Goshti where in Smt Raj Lakshmi Partha Sarathi & Popular Kannada Novelist Smt Rekha Kakhandaki participated. Smt Rekha Kakhandaki explained about the inspiration she got from Shree Parasanna Venkata Dasaru to write her latest novel “Shree Parasanna Venkata Vijay” that was released at Bagalkot on occasion of Dasara Punya Tithi.
